朝日新聞社の「論座2007年1月号」に掲載された赤木智弘氏の　<「丸山真男をひっぱたきたい」>　を読みました。
私は、丸山真男をひっぱたきたくもないし、赤木智弘をひっぱたく気にもなれない。かれ等は、共に現象論に終始する同じ穴の狢だからである。
必要なことは、現象の先にある答えである。我らが進みゆく未来の目標地点である。それを明示した上で、我々の現実に取りうる手段を提案することである。
そうでなければ、こうした現象論には際限がない。


Professor Terashima is an accomplished scientist but also an acutely observant philosopher and sociologist whose critical ideas are deeply penetrating. What he writes will give his readers much cause for reflection. His contribution is that he articulates through carefully structured analysis what the Japanese have for a while but only vaguely suspected about themselves.
